The Sky

Like I said on the main Nature page, a big challenge for me was to capture the grace and mystery of the moon, so a lot of my pictures are of that. However, there are a few more ultra-atmospheric phenomena that captivate me as well 8)

Roller coaster!
I took a risk with this picture and it paid off so well. I was at the Fair with some friends with my first digicam, and I was dying to take it on this ride to get a picture, but I was afraid I'd break it. I went and did it anyways, and came out with my first favorite photograph of all time. The mood of reaching up toward the sun is inspiring, and pretty much it's responsible for me wanting to take photos ever.

The Moon on a pond
One january night I grabbed my mom's video camera tripod and walked down to the pond to figure out how to shoot pictures of the moon, since I had learned the secret of long exposures. This very shot was something I had been itching to find a good picture of on the internet because I wanted to draw it, but the ones that existed in google images were of poor quality or not much moonlight. Everyone, you're welcome. Moon shining on water.

Moon falling on pines.
This picture was at the same time as the previous one. The softness of the pines makes me think of a campout for some reason.

Summer night city
This was such a hard shot to get to. One night in Ohio, Stu informed me that his window did not have a screen on it, and you could just walk right out on the roof of the porch. And of course I insisted on taking his dad's expensive SLR camera out on a sheet-metal roof, and I was rewarded with a couple of beautiful pictures, one of these this one.

I like rainbows
Another summer evening in Ohio, Stu and I were at the library looking for movies to rent when it started raining. As we left, it stopped, and we were rewarded with a huge rainbow to drive home too, so i ran inside to grab a camera, any old camera to capture it. They are still amazing to see, all the prettier for their rarity.

This picture is really big because I wanted to save it wallpaper sized so I could use it on my laptop, like I am now.
I forget why I shot this picture, I think it was because I drew a picture that was very much like this one time.
