On this day, I learned that stu is a hunka-hunka burnin’ C code! It’s very impressive to me when he does this stuff.

I also learned that the interstate is still horrible to drive on when the sun is setting and you’re headed vaguely west, and that Alma does not have a Wendy’s right on its exit, that is instead Clarksville. *lesigh* I guess I didn’t need that chicken sandwich anyways!

On this day, I learned that stu has all kinds of awesome-fun codetime, that gas has still not gone up in Fayetteville ($3.39), and that yes, the interstate is still impossible to drive on when the sun gets down to a certain point and you’re heading west.

On this day, I learned that it’s weird when you can’t taste anything! Also the [semi]new chinese buffet in Russvegas is pretty great (Mulan’s). They have some sautéed mushrooms there that are to die for.

Also, my parents’ renovations are really coming along! They finally got some curtains that look good and the curtain rods match the wood trim, and they’ve been varnishing like everything, and it makes the old house look spry again.

On this day, I learned that I really shouldn’t've stopped taking Claritin, because it is still highly allergy time for me. My bad.

I also learned about a kind of cryptography that makes use of something called a one-time pad. The idea behind this is that there is some sort of thing that will decode a message, and you hand someone the one-time key physically so there can’t be any interception, then they can decode it. If you make up any other combination, then you get an infinite amount of wrong answers.

It was hard to understand at first because I thought my friend explaining it to me was going to use it in computer applications and I couldn’t understand why someone couldn’t just intercept the packets and decode it like that, but then he made me realize it was all physical interactions and it made sense.

The one-time pad was invented in 1917.

On this day, I learned that while I managed to luckily read one useful thing in my statics book, I forgot to read all the others. *lesigh*

I learned that my foot is still too sore to wear shoes in; I made it down the stairs and onto the sidewalk outside of Yocum when I had to take them off. That was when I learned that the bandaid on the really sore spot had come off. No wonder.

I learned how to parametrize equations (for calculus) and caught up a little more on all that homework I didn’t do because I was studying for Statics.

On this day, I learned how to write spanning sets for vector spaces, that I am reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally behind in calculus, and that Materials homework is so much easier when you read the book instead of trying to use your useless notes that the instructor gives the class in lectures. Ugh. I also learned that stu’s roommate is learning to animate things in 3-D in CAD, but apparently he had more experience. I got a little apprehensive when I saw him playing with this nice model of a vice, but it was stock modelage luckily 8)

I also learned that statics is so hard and makes my head hurt.

On this day, I learned that I really should find something better to do with my Tuesday afternoons, although it would be nice to make that just a reading time. . .

I also learned the Wal-Mart seems to be permanently out of stock of cheap popcorn and I must needs visit Harps for my popcorny goodness.

I learned that two of my internet dragons have had their descriptions accepted, which is a big ‘In your Face!’ to the people who had critiqued them, or maybe not, but either way I like to see them there :] It also inspired me to write some more. I’m happy that I picked the theme for naming them that I did because it lends itself to describe their characters if I should prove a little barren of thought.

In more academic pursuits, I learned that the shear stress from a load on a deformation is related by a certain formula shear stress = load*cos[phi]*cos[lambda] where phi is the angle between the line of action of the load force and the normal to the plane of the deformation and lambda is the angle from the plane to the line of action of the load force. This is very convenient because the dot product formula will give you the angle in terms of cosines, so you merely need to multiply them together by the force of the load. Excellent!

On this day, I learned that just possibly, the reason so many math animators show 4D images in animations is well, they change with regards to dimension four, which many people take to be time! (and even if it isn’t, it changes in regard to SOMETHING and time is as good (and accurate) as anything else.

Now I just have to figure out how to figure out those shapes. They still boggle my mind, but I think maybe now I can take them on.

On this day, I learned that to split a line into equispaced segments, one can use the DIVIDE command in AutoCAD 2007!

I also learned that the cafeteria plays 80s music on sunday at lunchtime

On this day, I learned the crack is basically cocaine with bicarbonate added. How strangely simple.
I also learned that many people have been murdered via heroin overdose. How simply strange!

I learned that they are doing construction over by the Northwest Quad, which is annoying when you’re trying to go to the little cafe place at Maple Hill, because you have to go all the way around the quads instead of just through them! *lesigh*
