Current Art

These are works that were completely relatively recently and I haven't grown to hate yet. A pretty miserable oeuvre, but what can I say?

Two from ten or twelve different views of the same bottle of sand :X There are a lot of other media included, I just don't like them as well as these two views:)

I was looking at my folder of photo-originals, when I found this cropped off self portrait. I noticed that it had a beautiful light quality and I decided to have a go at it in pastels. It doesn't resemble me hardly at all, but I love it for the dress and light play on it xD

Another AP assignment was to pick five pictures out of magazines or wherever and render them as 5"x7"s. This frog and lily pads was done with colored pencil and markers (frog).

One of the Art I or crafts classes were doing an assignment where they used warm or cool colors on a picture then wove in strips of paper. Being desperately in search for 30 pieces to call my own to submit, I thought I'd go for it. One of my favorite things to do is to develop the color purple as a warm color, because everyone assumes it is a cool color and never thinks again about it. The general anatomy and the too-darkness of the wings kept this back from being a really great picture, but I still like it very well. You can see more of lowell elsewhere on my site xD (I think)

In Art II we were supposed to draw a picture with an Escher-esque style of reflection. I kinda stretched it, but supposedly Shays's arms are reflecting the stars above him. Through a roof even. (the rest of the picture, cropped off, shows that he is in fact positioned over carpet and not grass. Sorry!) You may see more of shays elsewhere on my site ;D

At some point in 2007 I learned to use the pen tool in photoshop, so it got paired with cel-style (or do we have to call it vector nowadays?) shading and gradient overlays to create this really awesome picture of Clint that was pretty much how I imagined it, him towering over like a statue doing his priestly work. The foreshortening is lacking, but it could've been much worse if I hadn't done a photoreference xD You can see more Clint elsewhere on my site:DD
